My wife and I visited Prima Ristorante in Walnut Creek, CA this past weekend because we'd heard they had a great wine list. Their list did not let us down (nor should it have considering they are attached to a nice wine shop, and had a sommelier to navigate us through this list. We settled on an Arns Cabernet S. 2002. It was nice recommendation considering we were eyeing a bottle twice the cost.

While the ambience was nice, the Maitre'd could have taken a few lessons on smiling. Also, the sommelier could have probably shown a little more tableside manners. My biggest gripe though was the fact that we poured the majority of our glasses--not the waiting staff! The same lack of wine service occured at Left Bank restaurant too...maybe we're asking too much!

Has any Guru dined at Press? Returning from a Mustard Festival event I happened to drive by Press. The restaurant is beautiful in the evening. I went onto OpenTable and was surprised that I was able to obtain a reservation for that Friday evening. Is this restaurant as good as it looks?
